Southside, southside, oh how I love thee!

I'm on my Regional Month at Southside and since there were only 2 blocks on the schedule, I was done at 10am and then home by 11am. This rotation would be awesome but UPMC has screwed Southside by buying Mercy which they had no idea what they were going to do with when they bought it. Anyway, the faculty at Southside are awesome...such wonderful teachers and despite low numbers given the exodus of surgeons and conversion to an outpatient status, the learning experience is phenomenal...I could only imagine what it would have been like with 4-5x the current patient load.

So, when I got home, I definitely opted for the nap and slept until 1pm. Thank goodness Crosby is just as much of a sleeper/cuddler b/c she was my cuddle bug for my nap. Then a nice shower and off for errands...some fabric for photo props at Joanns and to make the baby blocks for Brooklyn, some returns to Target then a deposit at the bank. I took one look at my nails and realized I couldn't go into labor without a manicure b/c my nails looked horrid from all the handwashing (I am already going for my pedicure on Friday) and was getting ready to go to the nail salon (b/c Erik was supposed to be out hunting) but then felt hunger pangs and headed home to find that Erik didn't feel like going out since it was dreary. Erik and I spent some time discussing speaker placement for the theater room (to be a future Mi Casa Monday post) and then had caramelized onions and butter with pierogies and sauteed asparagus for dinner. God do I love pierogies (and halushki and halupki)!

We then watched a bit of the game and I went on a nesting rampage in Brooklyn's room realizing that I needed to reorganize 2 totes of supplies and reordered the books in her room...yep, I'm sure this will continue until she's here! We watched Top Chef (we think it's been Ash's card for a while but Robin NEEDS to go...she's horible and we both can't stand her) while I finished up some crafts and off to bed.
